ABOUT THE RELEASE: With a sound influenced by the likes of Stacey Pullen and Aril Brikha, Saint Petersburg-based label Etiku World issues its first release in the finest traditions of Detroit techno. On the first side, Etiku Dancer crafts lush, soothing pads over a deep bassline and floating rhythmic structure on "Soul-dependent". Highly rated by DJ Dex and played in his Conexion set, it's the kind of track you just want to put on repeat. The flip side is by French artist and DJ Olivier Mutschler under the name The Reminder. Recently grabbing the attention of Orlando Voorn, Mutschler's work presents deeply layered grooves that build and develop as the tunes progress, with style and prowess sure to secure him an important place in the annals of techno. Artwork by Dennis Donohue of Detroit Techno Militia and design by Denis The7notes show the label's commitment to the visual aspects of techno culture as well as the aural. Well-suited for either the dancefloor or the armchair, Etiku World's exciting freshman effort is a great beginning for a promising new label. Not one to pass up. |
PRESS: Santiago Salazar (UR/Los Hermanos): I love the record, and the artwork is great. Hope to hear more from you soon. |
